I'm sorry you wanted a bad online dating experience. Ok let’s see.......

Well it all started when me and my long time boyfriend Jeff broke up. I wanted a commitment; he on the other hand wanted to play the field. My heart was broken and I just didn’t want to go out and meet any one but one day in my Spam box I received an add for an online dating service.

Actually I received a ton of those ads but I had seen this one advertised on T.V. and they had been responsible for a lot of marriages. Apparently it was because they asked a million questions to match you perfectly.

Well I was 32 and my biological clock was ticking out of control. So I went through the painstaking task of signing up and paying my dues and answering an in depth questionnaire. If that were what you’d call it. It was like questionnaire boot camp and it took forever to fill out but I figured it would be worth it if I found my true love.

I struck gold because right away I had a couple matches, WooHoo! I thought wow I must be more compatible than I thought. So I went on my first date with a guy we'll call Bill. He was handsome enough and he didn’t smoke which was a huge plus. He treated me to a fantastic dinner and then we went to a movie. The night was perfect up until that point. We sat down in the theater and soon the movie came on. I thought it was sweet when he put his arm around me. He was such a gentleman.

About half way through he excused himself and went to the bathroom. I waited patiently for him for about ten minutes then I had to go check on him. He wasn’t in the lobby so I knew he must still be in the bathroom. Cautiously I yelled into him, there was no answer then I went out side and saw him coming out of the drug store right next to the theater with a bag in his hand. I giggled and ran up to him. Hey you I said, is everything OK? I wanted to make sure he was feeling well and I playfully peeked into the bag he had only to find condoms.

I was devastated but would be silent and let him save himself with the right explanation BUT he said "Well I figured since we hit it off so good we might end this night the right way." I was shocked beyond words. He was so disrespectful and expectant and arrogant.

I took a cab home that night and never turned to the online dating scene again because even though they might seem great in black and white they show their true colors in real life. But the story does have a happy ending because I tried a speed dating event a week later and found this great guy who I automatically had an attraction to both physically and spiritually.

That was 5 years ago. We got married 3 years ago and just had our first baby. I wish every one the best of luck in finding your true loves but be cautious and don’t get into a commitment with an online dating service, There is a reason they have enough money to advertise. It is because the same people keep paying them to meet people.

Get out there and meet them for your selves. You can only feel the connection, you cant read it.
